Now you can run LUCK straight from your browser, just click this and you will be playing in no time!

This was possible due to the usage of libjcsi with some improvements to be released on next version.

(This means if you use libjcsi for io, it will be easier to make your roguelike available on JWS :))

Ok, I must confess I am obsessed.

This is intended to be the final version, I dont think I can manage to get something more into it!

For this version I added:
  • Move using directional keys
  • Added Enemies: They chase you down and quickly reduce your oxygen!
  • Enemies are quicker as you go into the dungeon.
  • Combat against enemies, you can choose to run or face them in deadly hand to flipper combat!
  • Enemies don't run into walls
  • Press space after you win or lose so you can see your results (really!)
  • Fixed bug on random generation (wasnt working for new levels)

So far, LUCK is a <1KBRL With the following features
  • Move using the directional keys
  • Pick up at least 10 relics through the 20 dungeon floors
  • Your oxygen drops steadly, your time is limited
  • Line of Sight, risk exploring the dungeon for the relics or descending for better LUCK
  • Random Level Generation
  • Themed Levels
  • Combat hand to hand with progressively harder enemies

What is luck0KRL
LUCK is a roguelike made for the <=1KBRL rgrd challenge.

This means the source code for this game is equal to 999 bytes

Features
* No combat, survive and win

Quickstart
* Use WASD to move, ' ' to exit.
* Get the relics from each floor and run for the exit, your time is limited as you are running out of oxygen

Plot
It is been about four million years since the times of The Quest for the Amulet of Yendor. The planet has been devastated and traces of civilization are no longer found.

You land your ship near the place the amulet of Yendor is rummored to be.

Your ship soon becomes unstable and you are ejected; your main oxygen tank blows into a million pieces, and you are left with a limited and pretty useless secondary tank.

Having no hope to survive, you jump into the ruins of Yendor, hoping to find at least 10 pieces of the broken amulet, become God, save yourself and turn the planet into a happy greenland.

LUCK was an entry for the 2008 First <1kB Roguelike Challenge.

...and a bit away from roguelike development at the moment.

Basically, I have big plans for the future; first thing to do will be releasing metroidrl 0.8, I can't afford to develop all I wanted for it but at least I will try to make a decent release (It is already a lot better than 0.71).

Then I will go for what is needed, CvRL 1.3, I have seen many things to enhance, and I am already waiting for valuable input. (I am looking at you :) )

Finally, I will be able to concentrate back on my main project, but it will still take time

However, all this will not happen inmediately... I have pending things to do (releasing pixalnation being one of them, making my graduate school studies lift off being another one), just wanted to let you know this is all planned, and I am still alive :)

Ok, I have been away for too long. pixalguild approaches 0.1, but the most important news you will probably want to know about is my new roguelike project, my entry for the TIGSource procedural generation compo

Metal Gear: The Roguelike.

* Infiltrate a base as a FOXHOUND special forces operative
* Explore the randomly generated multi-building jungle base complex.
* Stealthy rescue hostages and increase your rank
* Avoid guards, they are bad
* Find stealthy and not so stealthy weapons (Knifes, Handguns, Machineguns, Explosives and Rocketry)
* Destroy mass-destruction nuclear-warhead-armed gigantic Metal Gear mechas
* Meet new people and make friends with your transceiver.

Hello all!

I managed to release it in time for the 7DRL. The scope had to be stretched a bit...
Developing this was a nice experience ;)

Use z to jump, x to fire, s to setup

Players can modify their maps via XML, thus making much better maps than this busy coder could in this week :)

I plan on releasing a map pack next week... and probably more robot masters and weapons!
