| Summary | 0000061: Environmental and situational Effects | ||||||
| Description |
I mentioned it in the other thread and here it is, in the RFE Forum. I've also decided to further examine the idea. The basic idea is to include changing environmental effects to CVRL. Those changes would be rare but last for a while and change the way things interact with the world. Some may be beneficial to the player, other can turn out harmful. With the GFX Version, realising things would be rather easy, how those things could be incorporated into the Console Version, I'm not really sure. Maybe with a small extra window that indicates the weather or something. Nonetheless, the different scenarios: Fog Every London Citizen can attest. Fogs are instruments of pure mood and atmosphere. During a Fog, the Viewing Distance gets cut down to two tiles, not changeable by light sources. Fogs can occur inside and outside and are amongst the more harmless Scenarios. Rain Rain is really just a cosmetic scenario for the few outside areas. Thunderstorm Thunderstorms darken the sky. In outside areas, there also is rain. Inside, only random Light Tints can be seen. The effect of Thunderstorms however is a strong one. Due to the blackening of the Sun, all foes drastically increase in strength. The tiles should be tinted in a dark blue, more into grey than the current nightshift. Sunny Day The opposite of the Thunderstorm. Warm hues tint the tiles and all foes grow weaker than ever. When I think of more, I'll post them. That is if the idea has potential. The way I see it, those events would be rare, about one of them max during a play. But once engaged, they would last for a while (couple hundred turns maybe). Potential problems: The harmful versions are sit out by bumping into walls in no combat areas. |

Working on this, must fix transition messages on console interface and add graphics effects to GFX version |
