February PowerPoll is up!
Slash on Saturday 16 January 2010 - 20:21:09 // comment: 1

What is the powerpoll?
Every month, you can vote for the project you'd like Slashie.net to be focused in on next month.

By doing this, you will be adding Development Points (DP) to our repository, (which gets pretty empty from time to time). This is your choice to help us guide these games into completion!

So go now, and vote in the February powerpoll!

CastlevaniaRL v0.61, bundled version
Slash on Monday 23 November 2009 - 21:12:45 // comment: 0

Hello all!

CastlevaniaRL is now available for windows computers without a Java Runtime Environment!

Now you can play the game without installing Java, as it includes a self extracting temporary VM.

The only downside for this version is the unability to save games, that will be fixed on next one.

JCurses compiled for Mac and Linux 64bits
Slash on Thursday 22 October 2009 - 22:02:13 // comment: 4

Dirk Zimmermann and Michael Curran have compiled JCurses' native bindings for both Linux 64 bits and Macintosh... now you can play any of slashie.net games in those platforms!

Just delete both libjcurses.dll and libjcurses.so and replace them with the correct one! (Dont forget to rename them as libjcurses.so)

libjcurses Linux 64bits
libjcurses Macintosh

Development resumed for CastlevaniaRL
Slash on Tuesday 13 October 2009 - 00:00:52 // comment: 3

Ok. I was bored and didn’t want to start something in Pixal, so I will give a shot to CvRL, will try to fix all bugs and then release!

It’s been more than 2 years (last version was released August 14 2007). And some bugs have just been there, waiting…

Ok, I got the source and got it running (quickly, luckily this is not big deal with a java project with little dependencies). I then created a SVN repo for it (yeah, I managed to develop it a long time ago, investing a lot of time, using no revision control system).

So I can now develop, green flag.

Keep track of the development at the devlog!

Check out 3 short reviews of the roguelikes at http://theasciidungeon.net/index.php/archives/126. .

The games reviewed are MetroidRL, ZeldaRL and MegamanRL, which are the ones with less invested development time... waiting for a review of both CastlevaniaRL and DrashRL :)
